Notchify isn't on the App Store, so macOS adds an extra step the first time. Here's the whole process.
Click any Download button on this page. Your
browser saves Notchify-0.2.0.dmg to your Downloads
folder. Double-click it to open the installer window.
In the window that opens, drag the Notchify icon onto the Applications folder. That's it, open Notchify from Launchpad or your Applications folder.
This can happen because Notchify is distributed outside the App
Store. If macOS says Apple could not verify that

Yes. Notchify is open source, so the full source code is available for review on GitHub before you install it.
Notchify asks for Apple Events / Automation so it can show and control Apple Music and Spotify, and for Camera access for the mirror tab. Nothing leaves your Mac. The code is open source so you can verify it yourself.
macOS Sonoma 14 or later. The build is universal, so it runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
